30 APR, 2014. A total of 160 students, teachers and St Louis Sisters from the St Louis Secondary, Community and Grammar Schools throughout Ireland attended the annual St Louis Schools’ Network Day in Dublin.
The main purpose of the day was for participants to connect with each other and to celebrate all that we are about as members of the St Louis Schools’ Community. It was also a day for engaging in Development Education and to enrich each other through the sharing of research, projects and resources, that individual schools had worked on during the year. Directed by two facilitators from Development Perspectives, four schools undertook to present their projects to the larger group. The aim of this session was to inform, challenge and raise awareness on the importance of issues such as water harvesting, environmental sustainability, recycling, organic gardening, and composting. Each student also had the opportunity to engage in a second workshop of his or her choice. These workshops were offered by WorldWise Global Schools, Trócaire and Eco-Unesco.
