18 AUG, 2016. Thursday, May 26, 2016 was a moving day of Remembrance for the Middletown Community and all who have served there over the years. It marked the reinterment in Middletown Parish Cemetery of the relics of all the Sisters of St Louis who had been buried in the Convent Cemetery between 1882 and 2004. The relics of 43 sisters and one past pupil have now joined the seven sisters already interred in the parish cemetery since 2004. This reinterment, already completed in private, was an outcome of the sale of the former St Joseph’s building and Convent jointly to the Northern Irish and Irish Governments in 2004, which then became the Middletown Centre for Autism.
