The 12 St Louis pilgrims of 2025, gathered in Juilly, France, on June 1 to begin a two-week journey in the footsteps of our Founder, Louis Bautain, and ancestors, Joseph Louis Colmar, Louise Humann, Thérèse Brek, and Mère Thérèse de Vaux. They learned the importance of pilgrimage as a spiritual tradition, linked to our human yearning to associate with people we love, with faith experiences that are precious, and with events that are holy in our St Louis story. They recalled the emphasis on synodality promoted by Pope Francis and were determined to walk together in Fr Bautain’s footsteps, joyfully seeking to discern God’s dream for them and for our mission today. They were seekers just like him in our own context.
