29 NOV, 2012. Drumalis in Northern Ireland was the venue for the first-ever International Sisters of St Louis Education Forum, which took place from October 21 to 27, 2012. Participants from all regions - California, England, France, Ghana, Ireland and Nigeria – attended this milestone event.
When the sun rose on the first morning, its rays shimmered over the loch and, when viewed across the rose garden from the windows of Drumalis, it presented a picturesque Larne and gave an ambiance of serenity, which made one ready to enter into the day.
The colourful set up inside the meeting hall invited participants to welcome each other and move towards each other with excitement. The gathering was for serious business, but the exciting atmosphere inside the room made the lectures and sharing of experiences relaxing and refreshing.
All the lectures were creatively planned, brilliantly delivered and excitedly shared. They were educational, renewing and reinvigorating. The meeting gave new ideas and insights into the changing world of the Sister of St Louis mission. It was well organized, the speakers were well chosen, topics were critical, and for the educators, it was wonderful to be there.
