30 APRIL, 2018. Great work has taken place so far in this academic year across Irish St Louis Post Primary schools in the area of Global Citizenship Education (GCE), according to Finola Cunnane SSL, Co-ordinator of the St Louis Schools’ Network.
GCE is an educational process aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of the rapidly changing, interdependent and unequal world in which we live. By challenging stereotypes and encouraging independent thinking, GCE helps teachers and students critically explore the root causes of global justice issues and how they interlink with our everyday lives. This takes places through every subject on the school curriculum, as well as through extra-curricular activities.
