29 FEBRUARY, 2024. A Thanksgiving celebration took place on January 27, 2024, to mark 74 years of St Louis presence in Dún Lughaidh and to say farewell to the last sisters living in the convent - Hannah Boylan SSL, Sinéad Beirne SSL, Siobhán Dillon SSL and Bernardine Moran SSL - who have moved to the convent in Rathmines. It was a day of mixed emotions which began with Mass in St Joseph’s church, which was the site of the first St Louis Primary School, known as ‘Hammill’s House’. After Mass the celebrations continued in Carrickdale Hotel, where a beautiful meal was served followed by an evening of entertainment.
